A whopping eight California pizzerias managed to slice their manner onto a new record of America’s prime pizza joints — but not a single one in Los Angeles or its surrounding suburbs made the cut.

Instead, the Bay Area hogged practically all the dough — with seven of the Golden State’s winners clustered around San Francisco, Oakland and Silicon Valley.

The saucy shutout comes courtesy of supply giant DoorDash, which unveiled its 2026 “Top Pizza Spots” record in celebration of National Pizza Month — deep-dishing out bragging rights to 40 neighborhood pizzerias across the nation.

While California dominated the western portion of the rankings, LA’s sprawling pizza scene was nowhere to be discovered.

The record, launched Oct. 13, was compiled utilizing a yr’s price of DoorDash buyer rankings, from September 2025 through September 2026.

To qualify, eating places needed at least 1,000 buyer critiques, fewer than 10 places and some of the highest average rankings on the platform.

When the mud settled, hungry app customers overwhelmingly gave out five-star rankings for NorCal faves.

San Francisco’s Golden Boy Pizza, well-known for its chunky sq. slices and signature clam and garlic pie, was among the winners.

SF scored two more winners with Little Star Pizza, recognized for its deep-dish choices, and Outta Sight, which serves skinny New York-style pies.

Also incomes a spot was Zachary’s Chicago Pizza in Oakland, whose hearty stuffed pies have long supplied diners a style of the Windy City.

DoorDash particularly singled out the restaurant’s stuffed spinach and mushroom pizza as a standout.

Meanwhile, Silicon Valley proved it knows a factor or two about pizza, with San Jose’s A Slice of New York Pizza, Campbell’s Blue Line Pizza and Luigi’s Pizza & Pasta all making the cut.

The lone California winner outside the Bay Area was Mike’s Pizza of Sonora, positioned in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

For LA pizza fanatics, the tacky snub is notably robust to swallow as the metropolis’s pizza scene has loved a culinary renaissance lately, with acclaimed retailers drawing prolonged traces and worldwide recognition.

But the DoorDash outcomes don’t essentially imply Angelenos are getting inferior pies, it turns out — just that the metropolis’s pizzerias didn’t handle to crack the platform’s rating-based choice.

“Every neighborhood has a spot people are fiercely loyal to,” said Ruth Isenstadt, Head of U.S. Restaurants at DoorDash. “This list celebrates the restaurants that earn that loyalty order after order, and the people behind them who keep finding ways to make a familiar favorite their own.”

The newest blow to LA’s belaguered restaurant scene was softened, however, by the latest announcement of a separate national pizza rating from Food & Wine — where no less than three Los Angeles spots making the cut on an even more unique record of the 27 best pizzas in the nation.

Pijja Palace in Silver Lake, Pizzeria Sei in Palms and Quarter Sheets in Echo Park were tapped for the prestigious honor.
