Jason Kidd is reportedly “in advanced talks” to be part of ESPN for the next chapter of his profession.

According to The Athletic and NBA reporter Marc Stein on Monday, Oct. 5, the Hall of Fame level guard is close to a deal to become an ESPN studio analyst and a member of “NBA Countdown.” The show at present options Brian Windhorst and Kendrick Perkins with Malika Andrews internet hosting. Michael Malone left the program in April when he turned the head coach of North Carolina’s basketball crew.

When USA TODAY Sports reached out to ESPN, a consultant declined to remark.
