Three gamers are tied atop the leaderboard and 5 more are just one shot back after three rounds at the PGA Tour’s 2026 Baycurrent Classic in Japan. A trio of Americans ― Michael Brennan, Zach Bauchou and Jacob Bridgeman ― share the lead at 13 under getting into the last day at Yokahama Country Club close to Tokyo.
Brennan shook off a tough end to the second spherical and made the greatest transfer of the three co-leaders on Saturday, signing for a 6-under 65 tied for the lowest spherical of the day.

“I played good golf. I’ve been playing good golf all week,” Brennan said. “I played good golf yesterday, I was 6 under through 17 and made a six on the last, which was a bummer. So it was great to save par today. Been hitting my irons really well. Had a couple 7-iron plus irons that I’ve hit pretty tight and made some birdies from that distance, which is always nice to do. I feel like you’re stealing one when you do that. Hit some good putts, rolling it really nicely, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
Brennan managed to regroup after Friday’s disappointing double-bogey at the 18th. He made three birdies and a bogey in his first 11 holes Saturday before catching fire on the manner in, sinking three birdies in a row on Nos. 12-14 and including another at the seventeenth.
“I was honestly ― maybe an hour, hour and a half after the [second] round ― was still thinking about the double. It kind of eats at you a little bit,” Brennan said. “But eventually I felt like I got past it … there’s a lot of golf left and I’m able to come back from it.”
Brennan burst onto the scene when he won the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship while taking part in on a sponsor exemption, permitting him to leapfrog the Korn Ferry Tour and go straight to the large leagues. He’s since confirmed that he belongs, successful the 2026 Wyndham Championship in July and ending forty sixth in the season-long FedEx Cup standings.

Michael Brennan of the United States hits his tee shot on the fifth gap during the second spherical of the Baycurrent Classic 2026 at Yokohama Country Club on October 9, 2026 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan.
Now, the 24-year-old former Wake Forest standout has a probability to further set up himself as one of the Tour’s budding stars.

“It would be unbelievable [to win the Baycurrent Classic],” Brennan said. “This is my first time in Japan, first time in Asia. It’s been an amazing experience, I’ve loved it over here. The fans have been great, super supportive. They’re very polite. It would mean a lot to win over here. It would be really, really cool.”

Bridgeman eyes wire-to-wire victory, Bauchou seeks breakthrough
Like Brennan, Bridgeman is also attempting to nab his third profession PGA Tour victory and his second in just three weeks after rising victorious at the Biltmore Championship Asheville ― and he’s spent all week at the prime of the leaderboard in Japan. He opened with an 8-under 63 to take the solo lead after the first spherical and has held at least a share of the lead ever since.

Bridgeman was 4 under through 15 holes on Saturday before bogeys at Nos. 16 and 18 dropped him back into a tie for the lead.

Jacob Bridgeman of the United States waits on the 4th tee during the third spherical of the Baycurrent Classic 2026 at Yokohama Country Club on October 10, 2026 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan.
“I’m kind of pleased that I shot 2 under, I feel like I didn’t play very good today,” Bridgeman said. “From the start I kind of had some issues with some speed on putts and had a lot of longer comebacks, so that will be kind of a point of emphasis tomorrow trying to be a little more conservative and focus on my speed on some of those putts. But drove it fine, hit my irons OK, and I just hope to be a little bit sharper. I felt like it was just kind of a little bit of an off day for me.”
An off day, possibly, but he stays in prime place to add yet another trophy to his outstanding breakout season in 2026. And it’s a place he’s rapidly grown used to.

“I feel very comfortable,” Bridgeman said. “Even though I wasn’t hitting it great, I didn’t feel like I was nervous or feel the pressure at all. I feel like I just managed it the way I normally do. Yeah, I think it’s pretty easy for me to brush it off. I expect to play better tomorrow, I expect to hit it better tomorrow and be a little more focused in my warm up tomorrow.”
The third man tied for the lead, Bauchou, is in unfamiliar territory ― at least on the PGA Tour. The 30-year-old rookie has turned in rounds of 69, 64 and 67 to play his manner into Sunday’s last group as he appears for his first win on Tour.
“Very excited,” Bauchou said. “I haven’t had that many chances to win obviously this year … I just feel like my game has been pretty solid all year. The weeks I’ve driven it well, I haven’t hit my irons that well, and the weeks that I’ve hit my irons that well, I haven’t driven it that well. But this week I’ve driven the ball pretty well, which is important out here because the fairways are pretty narrow, and then I’ve hit a lot of short iron shots. So it’s matched up pretty nice, which is kind of what you have to do to have a chance to win. Definitely excited for that.”

Justin Thomas, Adam Scott half of logjam behind leaders
Justin Thomas is one of the 5 gamers tied for fourth at 12 under, one off the lead, along with Adam Scott, Keith Mitchell, Stephan Jaeger and Jordan Smith.

Thomas, a 16-time winner on Tour, missed the cut in his first begin of the 12 months coming off back surgical procedure that stored him out until March, but he’s made the weekend in every begin since then. All issues thought-about, it’s been a strong season for the 33-year-old American famous person, who performed a main position in serving to the U.S. win the Presidents Cup two weeks in the past in Chicago.
But he hasn’t discovered the winner’s circle in 2026 and he has just one victory to his title in the previous 4 years. He could change that with a low rating Sunday in Japan, where’s he’s completed runner-up twice before.

Justin Thomas of the United States acknowledges the gallery on the sixteenth inexperienced during the third spherical of the Baycurrent Classic 2026 at Yokohama Country Club on October 10, 2026 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan.
“I wish I knew [why I play well in Japan] because I would love to channel it year round all the time. I’m not sure,” Thomas said. “Yeah, I have a great track record. I’m going to try to use that to my advantage.”

Scott, meanwhile, is wanting to finish a victory drought spanning more than six years. The timeless Aussie has performed stellar golf all season, ending eleventh in the FedEx Cup standings and he’s positioned no worse than T-16 in 4 begins since early July. But a win has eluded him ― for more than 2,400 days.
“It would be nice just to win anything, to be honest with you, at this point,” Scott said. “It’s been like six years since I’ve won on the PGA Tour. I’m frustrated by that. I feel like there’s been some good golf in there and I haven’t made the most of it, but it also shows how hard it is to win on the PGA Tour now. So this is a great chance for me tomorrow to go out and have a fantastic round and hopefully it’s better than everyone else.”
Scott will play in the penultimate threesome for the last spherical, alongside Thomas and Smith, teeing off at 10:10 a.m. native time Sunday, which is 9:10 p.m. ET Saturday in the U.S. The last group that includes the three co-leaders will tee off at 9:21 p.m. ET.
