As far as UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is involved, he was just a stylistically unhealthy combat for Movsar Evloev.

Volkanovski (29-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC) was dominant against Evloev (20-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) when he fended off his takedowns and completed him by strikes in Round 2 of their title combat this previous Saturday at UFC 333.

Going into the combat, many thought Evloev would current a relentless tempo and grappling prowess that Volkanovski has never skilled before at 145 kilos. However, the champion handed the take a look at with flying colours but does not expect the relaxation of the division to do the same.

“I thought he still looked great, as well. Again, I’m just the wrong guy,” Volkanovski said of Evloev (h/t Freak MMA). “I feel like even if that same Movsar – see, this is going to be hard for people to understand or believe. If that Movsar fought anyone else in the division, he walks through them.

“Walks through them, but I’m a totally different man. I believe that was the best Movsar that there was. People most likely won’t get that, but I believe that. I’m just a nightmare matchup for him. Watch his next combat. It’ll be his best efficiency to date. Remember I said that.”

Evloev proved to be too much against all his prior opposition, which included wins over Diego Lopes, Lerone Murphy, and Aljamain Sterling.
