The accidents are piling up for the Blue Jays.
All-Star catcher Alejandro Kirk was positioned on the injured listing Saturday after dislocating and breaking his left thumb, which he suffered on a foul tip during Friday’s recreation against the White Sox.
He is set to meet with a specialist to decide if surgical procedure is needed.
After the recreation, Kirk was feeling about as one would expect.

“He’s all right, as [Kirk] can be,” Toronto supervisor John Schneider said, per ESPN. “He’s pissed, obviously. Tough news for us and for Kirky for sure.”
Kirk has been one of the best backstops in baseball, making two All-Star appearances and profitable the 2022 Silver Slugger since taking over full-time behind the plate for the Blue Jays 4 years in the past.
Last season, Kirk hit .282/.348/.421 with 15 homers in 130 video games.
