No future member of the Chicago Bulls will be ready to put on No. 1 after the franchise retired Derrick Rose‘s jersey on Saturday evening. The same applies for the crew’s beloved mascot, Benny the Bull.
Prior to the Bulls’ matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers Monday evening, Benny teased a potential quantity change a number of instances on social media in honor of Rose. He held a mock information convention where he was requested to handle it. Benny made no remark, instead displaying off a signal that learn: “I’ve got 99 problems but my number ain’t 1.”

No participant in Bulls historical past has worn that quantity. The closest is No. 91 by Dennis Rodman, who won three straight titles with the franchise.
The 2015 NBA Mascot of the Year debuted on Oct. 17, 1969, and has donned only No. 1. He has become recognized for spilling popcorn on opposing followers at video games, while typically nailing half-court photographs — 236 photographs so far, according to his web site.
Rose (No. 1) joined Jerry Sloan (No. 4), Bob Love (No. 10), Michael Jordan (No. 23) and Scottie Pippen (No. 33) to become the fifth former participant to have his jersey retired by the Bulls.
