Cleveland’s WNBA crew has its first official rent. The crew announced Tuesday it employed Allison Howard as its new president, per a press release.
Howard joins the crew — which does not have a title yet — with lots of expertise. She presently serves as the govt vice president and chief industrial officer with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Prior to that, she served as the president of the Kansas City Current, an NWSL crew. The WNBA announced Cleveland as an growth franchise in June. The franchise is expected to start play at Rocket Arena in Cleveland beginning in 2028.
Cleveland is not the only metropolis that will welcome a WNBA franchise over the next couple years. Both Detroit and Philadelphia also acquired groups. Detroit will start play in 2029 and Philadelphia will get under method the following season.
