A lady has been arrested in the US after a 25lb weight was allegedly hurled at a fellow gym-goer. Aralyn Martinez, 24, is alleged to have instructed the girl she would drop the weighted plate on her.

Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said officers were called to 24 Hour Fitness in Spring, Texas, on January 7. The police said when deputies arrived at the health club they discovered a feminine suspect had assaulted a complainant after she recognised the alleged sufferer as someone her accomplice was reportedly concerned with.

The power added: “During the altercation, the suspect threw a weighted plate toward the complainant’s head, attempting to cause injury.

“The suspect was detained and recognized as Aralyn Martinez.”

Gym workers had called 911 to report the alleged altercation, with a felony grievance filed with the District Attorney’s Office, according to The Sun.

The Daily Mail reported that Judge Matthew Peneguy issued an order banning Martinez from possessing weapons and drinking alcohol.

He wrote: “Facts giving rise to possible cause counsel that alcohol was a issue in this offense. Defendant must not use, possess, or eat alcohol.

“This includes any food, mouthwash, or over-the-counter medication containing alcohol.”

She has also been instructed not to use marijuana or contact the alleged sufferer or be within 200ft of 24 Hour Fitness.

Constable Mark Herman instructed Us Weekly her bond was set at $1,000 (£748) out of the 488th District Court.
