The Kentucky High School Athletic Association golf season came to an finish on Oct. 10 with the conclusion of the ladies state finals which adopted the boys finals on Oct. 6 and 7.

St. Henry eighth grader Reese Anthony was the Northern Kentucky standout in the ladies championship. Anthony completed tenth total, capturing an eight-over-par 152 over the two days at Bowling Green. Anthony shot a 75 on day one and a 77 the next, ending 13 photographs behind Sacred Heart’s Keira Yun who repeated as KHSAA champion.

Ryle’s Elizabeth Dickson was just behind Anthony, carding a 155 and ending in a tie for twelfth total. Dickson was in the prime 5 after her day one 73 which was adopted up with an 82 to finish the event.

Pendleton County’s Taylor Bruener completed in twenty second with a 161, Notre Dame’s Maria Penaranda tied for thirty fourth with a 165 and Ryle’s Lacey Wilson was tied for eighty fifth with a 212.

Conner made its first ever journey to the state finals as a crew. The Cougars completed ninth of 9 groups. Lexington Christian Academy won the crew championship by going 29-over for the weekend.

Sofia Seals paced Conner with a 172, tying for 57th total. Bella White (198), Eva Fey (206), Cam Broering (212) and Evie Maurits (234) also performed for Conner.

KHSAA boys golf state event finals

No Northern Kentucky groups made the KHSAA state finals, but some people made the cut.

While Frederick Douglass’ Anderson Lang bested Louisville St. Xavier’s Luc Kelty in a playoff after both completed with a four-under-par 140, Northern Kentucky’s prime finisher was Ryle’s Hayden Li who shot a 151 and tied for twenty fourth.

Parker Isaacs of St. Henry and Joseph Mangine of Covington Catholic tied for thirty second by capturing 153s. Jack Woolwine from Dixie Heights tied for 57th with his 159, Carson White from CovCath tied for 62nd with a 162 and Walton-Verona’s Adam Gutman tied for 66th with a 164.
