Jai Herbert is assured his skillset will be too full for Matheus Camilo at UFC Fight Night 290.
Herbert (14-6-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) is coming off a thrilling first-round knockout win over Manel Nallo in April, setting the stage for Saturday’s light-weight co-headliner against Camilo (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at Meta APEX in Las Vegas (Paramount+).

The Brit is not one to take umbrage with his assigned matchups, and thinks this explicit pairing with Camilo is one that favors him properly.
“He’s a young, up-and-coming lad,” Herbert instructed MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday’s media day. “He’s a good fighter. He can box, he can wrestle. It’s going to be a good fight. I’ve got the experience, I’ve got the skills. I’ve got everything to go out there and get the win, so that’s what I’m going to do.”
It’s been an up-and-down octagon run for Herbert. He has never won consecutive fights during his more than six-year UFC tenure, but now he has a likelihood again. The 38-year-old not only plans to get his hand raised, but also do so emphatically.
“I’m prepared for three rounds if need be,” Herber said. ‘But any time the alternative arises, I’m trying for the end.”
