New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson missed Thursday evening’s 126-113 loss at the Golden State Warriors because of a sprained proper ankle.

He is listed as day-to-day. The next alternative for Brunson to play is Saturday, when the Knicks host the Phoenix Suns.

Brunson was injured in the opening minutes of Wednesday’s 112-101 loss at the Sacramento Kings. He limped off the court at the 7:01 mark of the first quarter after an awkward step on a go a minute earlier.

Brunson sat out two video games in mid-November because of a proper ankle sprain against the Orlando Magic. Last season, he sat out almost a full month after spraining his proper ankle against the Los Angeles Lakers in March. Brunson also tweaked his foot a number of occasions during last season’s playoff run to the Eastern Conference finals.
