Ashes to ashes.

BBQ lovers are mourning the loss of a Southern California establishment. Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks will formally close on September 12, proprietor Aaron Robins revealed in an emotional video announcement.

“After a lot of thought, I’ve decided I’m ready to take a break and close the chapter on boneyard,” Robins said in the clip, tearing up.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every person who has walked through our doors, shared a meal, celebrated a milestone, brought their family and friends, and helped make Boneyard what it became,” the post’s caption learn.

“This place has been so much more than a restaurant to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the memories we’ve created together.”

First opened in 2005 by chef Aaron Robins, the neighborhood staple provided slow-smoked BBQ, hand-tossed pizzas, cheesesteaks, burgers, and craft cocktails.

Fans paid their respects in the feedback.

“I worked here for ten years, met my wife here, and ate here. It’s a very special place and will remain in my heart forever,” actor Drew Talbert wrote in the feedback.

“First Dolly Parton then Boneyard??? Boneyard was where my wife and I had our very first date and our 10th anniversary. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts. Hopefully we can make it in before the 12th,” another mourner wrote.

“Wow this sucks. What an epic establishment with the most creative foods imagined. Chili filled donuts. Unreal. You guys will be missed,” a third commenter said.

The restaurant will host its “final service” on Saturday, September 12.

“Please come join us before our final service on September 12th. Come have a drink, enjoy a great meal, and say goodbye to Boneyard the way it deserves. Thank you for 20+ incredible years.”
