PALM BEACH GARDENS — Tiger Woods has gone from “not as fast as I’d like it to be” to “progressing … getting stronger” on his health replace.
Woods, the Jupiter Island resident, was requested about his rehab while attending Jupiter Links’ TGL match against New York, Jan. 13. Woods stays sidelined from all aggressive golf after present process disc substitute surgical procedure Oct. 10.

“I’m moving up to short irons, so that’s about it,” he said from the SoFi Center, home of the indoor, high-tech golf league, co-founded by Woods and Rory McIlroy. “I need a little bit more than that to be able to play here.
“I’m progressing, which is good. I’m getting there and getting stronger. It’s just one of those issues where it just takes so much time for the bone to heal and the bone to set.”

The 15-time major champion then joked at his “pace” right now he “could most likely play TGL’s Stinger gap. Just sort of roll it off the tee.”

Stinger is a par-4, 414-yard hole that is an ode to one of Woods’ signature shots. A natural rock formation extends from the left out in front of the tee box, encouraging players to hit a low stinger.
Woods, who turned 50 Dec. 30, was cleared to chip and putt in late November. When he first addressed his rehab in early December he said then he would not be able to play at the start of the TGL season.
“Hopefully, I will be ready to possibly play the finish of the season here and there but I do not know,” he said in December.
Jupiter Links lost its season opener. They also play Jan. 20, Feb. 2, March 1 and March 3.

Woods has not played an official PGA Tour event since July 18, 2024, when he shot a 77 on the second day of the British Open and missed the cut. He is eligible for the PGA Tour Champions but has given no update on if he’s planning to play any events on the 50-and-older circuit.
