Donald Trump is retreating from actuality as the Republican Party is going through what could be a historic midterm election defeat.

Even though Republicans are saying that Trump is sinking the complete occasion, the president seems to think that he is saving the midterms.

While talking to reporters before he left for what feels like 615th rally in Ohio, Trump first criticized Republicans for not supporting his unlawful diesel deal with Putin.

The president said:

Well, I think these are Republicans that can’t actually be severe. We have, you know, we make a lot of oil. We could do a restriction on oil, but the relaxation of the world would be tremendously, tremendously affected if we do that.

And we could do a restriction, you know, a cap on diesel, keep it all for ourselves. That would have a very large affect. And it’s not actually a deal with me, it’s a deal for the relaxation of the world. So anything that could help our farmers, our ranchers, I like. And I do think this, Zelenskyy has to focus on making a deal, not speaking about that.

As Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ) said, Trump’s deal with Putin is blatantly unlawful. Trump is violating a law enacted three years in the past banning the importation of Russian diesel.
