Benson Boone new music

On June 20, 2025 Boone launched his sophomore album “American Heart.”

And it’s fairly clear he’s having a ball.

The modern, hard-charging “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” gets issues underway and establishes the ebullient tone with its singalong refrain and hair-raising tempo adjustments. This one is sure to get even the most stone-faced concertgoer bopping along in no time.

Next up, comes the high-kicking, strutter “Mr. Electric Blue,” which sounds like The Killers in a increased register. From there, the younger singer-songwriter drops a pair of toe tappers with the hypnotic “Man In Me” and smoky “Reminds Me Of You” before diving to earnest balladry with the epic “Momma Song.” This hovering weepy may learn as a bit too syrupy honest for some but anyone with a mom should be ready to admire the sentiment.

Still, when all is said and one, the spotlight here has to be the dreamy ’70s throwback “Mystical Magical.” Its honey-dripped vocals blended with twinkly, deceptively easy piano construct to an Electric Light Orchestra-like falsetto crescendo that snaps the laid-back tune into sharp focus. For our money, this is pop rock at its most interesting. Catchy, light-weight and extremely danceable. We’re totally onboard.

To hear for yourself, you can discover “American Heart” in its superb entirety here.
