Johnson has slipped into a state that borders on delusion, and he not too long ago claimed to Punchbowl News that he hasn’t thought about what he will do next if Republicans lose the House:

I don’t know what’s going to occur Nov. 4. … If I were a betting man, and I’m not, I would put all the chips on me being speaker of the House in a Republican majority. I don’t think it’s going to be a purple wave election. I don’t think we’re going to have a 20-seat majority, but I believe it’s going to be the majority. … I think they would expect me to proceed to keep this factor going.

Johnson doesn’t acknowledge that his future relies upon on how much Republicans lose. If House Republicans get blown out, and Democrats win a 20-30 seat majority, there will be calls within the House Republican caucus for Johnson to go.

If Republicans keep it close, Johnson could run for House Minority and possible win, but either method, Mike Johnson is about to be out of a job.

Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday confirmed Johnson the community’s modeling that reveals that even in the best situation, the Speaker ends up unemployed.

Johnson did not take this properly.
