Collins tried to blame high power costs on the state of Maine:

Maine households are struggling, and that’s why I’ve been working so onerous to decrease power prices, to lower the prices of pharmaceuticals by placing a $35 a month cap on the value of insulin, and pace the approval of decrease value generic medication. And I have labored persistently to attempt to make housing more inexpensive.

If you look at the insurance policies that have pushed up the value of residing in Maine, you have to look at Augusta. Maine has the fourth highest electrical energy charges in the nation. It has some of the highest housing prices in the total nation. It has terribly high property taxes. Those are all due to Augusta’s failed insurance policies under the failed management of Troy Jackson.

Troy Jackson rebutted Collins:

I think it’s fairly clear that what we’re seeing proper now with affordability points is, because of Senator Collins not being prepared to stand up to Donald Trump, voting with him 96% of the time.

She superior the large unhealthy invoice out of committee. Her colleagues call her a crew participant. That invoice proper there value $3 billion the state of Maine. It’s cutting SNAP advantages, it’s cutting heating advantages. A- and why? So that she could give her billionaire funders another tax break.

That’s why that invoice is crucifying Maine. Also, Iran conflict. Senator Collins would not push back against that. Five instances she voted for it. The motive why our fuel price is going through the roof and the approach our… the motive why our electrical energy prices are going through the roof is because of the value of fuel.

Cost of oil is so high because she would not stop President Trump with the Iran conflict. Tariffs, another factor that, as a chair of appropriations, she could have accomplished more to stop, but now we have costs all across the state, fuel costs, wooden going to Canada, everything that we’re shopping for tourism, all because of the tariffs.

Collins stored attempting to run away from Trump, and Jackson stored linking her to the president. The worst second for Collins came when she was requested about her Brett Kavanaugh vote.
