The Yankees may have another harm to deal with.
George Lombard Jr. left the second sport of a doubleheader against the Red Sox Saturday evening at the Stadium with what appeared to be a proper knee harm.
In his first at-bat, Lombard awkwardly checked his swing and didn’t appear proper.
Manager Aaron Boone and a coach came out to verify on him.
Lombard, a prime shortstop prospect, stayed in the sport and singled to left discipline.
He batted in the third inning, and lined out to left, but was changed in the prime of the fourth.
Jose Caballero moved over to shortstop and Amed Rosario was inserted at third base.
If Lombard wants a stint on the injured record, the Yankees could deliver back Anthony Volpe from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
